Providing critical care with passion and purpose in Middlesbrough

We provide out-of-hours veterinary care for dogs, cats and small animals across Middlesbrough. Based within a private host practice, Jackie Patterson's Veterinary Practice, the clinic supports approximately 16 local practices, delivering essential emergency and critical care when it’s needed most.

Rewarding work, your way

Out-of-hours doesn’t mean all hours. This role offers a structured and flexible rota ideal for those looking to supplement their work or develop ECC experience:

  • Week 1:
    Saturday (15:00–21:00)
    Sunday (11:00–21:00)
  • Week 2: No shifts
  • Week 3:
    Sunday (11:00–21:00)
  • Week 4: No shifts

With no PDSA involvement, this role is focused purely on delivering high quality private emergency care in a well supported environment.

Investing in you

You’ll be working alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive ECC setting, with opportunities to grow your skills and confidence in emergency care. Benefits include:

  • Seven weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Private medical insurance
  • Up to 50% discounted staff pet care
  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata

Support where it matters

You’ll be part of a collaborative team within the clinic, with additional support from a wider network handling administrative and client service elements allowing you to focus on clinical excellence.

Next steps

We pride ourselves on creating a supportive working environment where people are listened to and treated fairly, honestly and considerately.
