For those Veterinary Surgeons who possess a solid foundation in small animal/mixed practice, the Vets Now AdvantEdge programme will build upon your existing medical and surgical skills and give you an extra boost of confidence before you start your new full or part time role with us. 60 hours of CPD delivered by specialist and ECC clinicians.
AdvantEdge is delivered by specialists and certificate holders in ECC, Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging and Surgery as well as experienced ECC clinicians.
The syllabus contains both clinical and non-clinical sessions to improve your approach to:
Before the programme begins, you’ll gain access to our E-Learning platform to complete essential CPD and build a strong foundation ahead of your practical training. You’ll then spend a week at our support office in Scotland, where the programme also provides an opportunity to attend an emergency surgery wet lab practical, alongside sessions on CPR simulation, making and reading blood smears, and perform point of care ultrasound techniques.
Rota options to meet your needs
We have full time, part time and weekend only options, across our network of clinics so there is something for everyone. Typically, a full time Veterinary Surgeon will work and average of 40 hours per week, no more than three nights in a row with a 1:2 weekend commitment, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

Vets Now was founded by Richard Dixon, a veterinary surgeon who understood the pressures of being on-call which also trying to maintain a good quality of life.
Today, almost two decades since Richard did his first out-of-hours shift, we’re still just as passionate about emergency and critical care and our clinics are all managed by people who have worked as frontline vets or vet nurses.
