Vets Now Portsmouth is a thriving clinic with an interesting caseload. As a weekend Vet at Vets Now Portsmouth, you will work alongside a supportive team, and you will benefit from ongoing mentorship from the Principal Vet.

At Vets Now Portsmouth how many of the available weekend shifts you work a month is up to you. We will work with you to find a rota that fits around your lifestyle and clinic requirements.
We have various weekend shift options available, which include (plus a fair share of bank holidays):
- Week 1 or 3 (on a 4-week rolling rota): Saturday day shift 12:00-19:30, Sunday day shift 08:00–19:30
- Every other weekend: Saturday day shift 12:00–19:30, Sunday day shift 08:00–19:30
- Every other weekend: Saturday backshift 16:00–23:00, Sunday backshift 08:00–18:00
- 4:4 weekends: Sunday twilight shift 18:00–00:00
As a backshift/twilight Vet you will often work as the second Vet on shift, providing an opportunity to share knowledge and work together on the more complex cases.

Today, almost two decades since Richard did his first out-of-hours shift, we’re still just as passionate about emergency and critical care and our clinics are all managed by people who have worked as frontline vets or vet nurses.
