Now for work-life balance at Vets Now Nottingham

At Vets Now, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance which is why we have developed a rota pattern designed to do just that. Our full time role at Nottingham consists of working an average of 40 hours per week across weekday nights, weekend days and nights, as well as a share of bank holidays – never working more than three shifts in a row.

Now for team support

At the Nottingham clinic, a two-year old purpose built hospital, you’ll benefit from dedicated support and coaching, both formally as part of your professional journey and informally through collaboration with our Senior Vet, Rebecca. The clinic is well staffed, with a broad spectrum of both private and PDSA clients. The team is slightly larger team compared to most out-of-hours providers, with two or three nurses always working, as well as backshift vets and receptionists during busier periods.

Now for enhanced rewards and benefits

Our commitment to your wellbeing extends beyond the diverse caseload, with an exceptional benefits package which includes, but is not limited to:

  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata
  • Enhanced company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes
  • Private medical insurance
  • Seven weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Up to 50% discounted staff pet care
  • Professional membership fees

Now for innovation

Tailored for experienced Veterinary Surgeons, our two-week AdvantEdge programme offers 80 hours of CPD, culminating in a surgical wet lab practical weekend. By blending AdvantEdge with our Vet Surgeon role in Macclesfield, you'll not only unlock the skills needed for success but also step confidently into a thrilling ECC career.

If you're eager to explore the clinic first-hand before submitting your application, you can arrange a visit with Rebecca by contacting Anne in our Talent Team through anne.longmire@vets-now.com

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those from diverse and minority groups. As a Disability Confident Employer, we encourage candidates with disabilities and health conditions to apply and are committed to providing reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.

As the UK’s leading pet emergency service, we have a route to an exciting career in emergency and critical care for veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses, no matter where you are in your career.

Vets Now was founded by Richard Dixon, a veterinary surgeon who understood the pressures of being on-call which also trying to maintain a good quality of life.

Today, almost two decades since Richard did his first out-of-hours shift, we’re still just as passionate about emergency and critical care and our clinics are all managed by people who have worked as frontline vets or vet nurses.

In an emergency, pet owners want to know they’ve got the experts on board. And so do we.
